Highway to Hell and Back – AC/DC + Rolling Stone Shows
Feb 1 Sat 9pm – Orana Hotel
On the 19th of February 1980 the world lost an absolute rock'n roll legend with the untimely death of Ronald Belford "Bon" Scott, former lead singer/lyricist of the iconic Australian rock band AC/DC.
In 2005 for Bons 25th anniversary brothers Palzy and Adem Daivah (better known these days as viAgro) along with fellow AC/DC fanatics Jarrod Daunt and brothers Tim and Mathew Clack formed HIGHWAY TO HELL AND BACK!!!!
A tribute to Bon Scott and that particular early era of AC/DC's musical career.
As the band name suggests, the boys cover songs from the million selling hit album HIGHWAY TO HELL back through to all the classics from POWERAGE, DIRTY DEEDS DONE DIRT CHEAP, T.N.T and the debut HIGH VOLTAGE. And due to the special occasion of Bon Scotts 40th anniversary the boys will also be performing the Let there be rock album (Australian release) in its entirety plus many more.

COOKIN UP RELIEF AT LIZOTTES
Tuesday, 04 February 2020
Tickets: $50
Like so many of you, we have watched with anguish as these catastrophic bushfires have devastated not only so many parts of New South Wales, but nearly every corner of our sunburnt country. Several of the musicians who have come to play at our venue over the last month have had to perform not knowing if their houses were still standing at home. Whilst it seems the fire season may not be over yet, it's time to think about rebuilding these affected communities - and we want to contribute! We are planning a series of fundraising events and activities throughout the year to help offer ongoing support to the Rural Fire Service as well as those affected by these tragedies. Music can soothe the soul and bring people together, so it's only fitting that the first of these events will be a music fundraising evening on Tuesday 4th February 2020 - Cookin' Up Relief @ Lizotte's. We've already confirmed a huge number of local musicians who have generously donated their time for this event including: JOHN PAUL YOUNG, Daniel March, Ty Penshorn, Brien McVernon, Gareth Hudson, Amy Vee, Mark Tinson, Francine Bell, Piper Butcher, Sue Carson, Komiti, Kylie Jane, Adam Miller, Bodie, Gian, Loui Abell, Jacob Ridgeway, Grant Walmsley and Lili Craine! And there are even more artists still to be confirmed! Tickets are inclusive of show only, with a special food and drinks menu available for purchase on the night thanks to the generous support of our food and beverage suppliers. Lizotte's will be absorbing all additional costs and our passionate staff will also be donating their time, meaning every dollar you spend on tickets, food and drinks will be directly donated to the Rural Fire Service. There will also be a raffle and silent auction on the night, with top prizes including: a weekend's accommodation at Byron Bay Lakeside Apartments, 4 x Dinner and Show Tickets to see Diesel at Lizotte's, copies of Wendy McDougall's music photography book, food hampers, wine, CDs, and much more! We hope you will join us for a very special Pat Metheny
Saturday 07 March 2020

The Kurri Nostalgia Festival
Friday 27 March to Sunday 29 March
The ever-popular Kurri Nostalgia Festival is gearing up for another three days of fun celebrating all things retro.
Kicking off back in 2004, the event has grown from strength to strength with scores of punters flocking to Kurri from across Australia and the 16th iteration promises to continue that upward trajectory.
A glorious celebration of all things ’50s and ’60s – rock and roll, cars, music, fashion and dancing, this year’s festival features a stacked program with more highlights than you can poke a stick at.
Some of those highlights include the Shannon’s Show and Shine which will see Kurri’s Barton and Lang Streets lined with a plethora of pre-1978 hot rods and classic cars.
There is expected to be 100 cars on display on the Saturday and Sunday will see up to 500 cars on Sunday with trophies awarded to the top three cars on Saturday and ten cars on Sunday.
Another highlight is sure to be the always popular best-dressed competition that encourages attendees to come dressed in their best ’50s and ’60s threads with prizes awarded to the most sartorially correct across four categories – Traditional, Miss Modern Day, Couples, and Junior.
The festival will also play host to the playfully risque grand final of Burlesque Idol Australia which will take over Weston Workers Club on Friday 27 March.
Add to that music from the likes of The Rattlesnakes, Louis King, The Sydney Swing Katz, and the Rhythm Cats as well as a twilight rock and roll train ride at Richmond Vale Railway Museum and it’s little wonder that this festival has become one of the Hunter’s premier events.
The Kurri Nostalgia Festival is on from Friday 27 March to Sunday 29 March. head here for more info and a full, downloadable program.
