NEWCASTLE GIG ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT 1NOV19

Great music on Sunday from SouthPaw, with great rocking music – if you are a Cream or Hendrix fan, then don’t miss this band – they don’t play as often as they should and only play at Shinnies at the moment…..
Fiona Boyes was great at the Stag and Hunter last Sunday – such a talented Australian blues singer, guitarist and songwriter. She will be back so check her out next time if you missed her.

It's November and we kick off a whole new month of great bands, shows and theatre around Newcastle.

Have a wonderful weekend
please find ways to be water conscious

Explore Your Musical World
Kurt Vile was a stand out new sound at Bluesfest last year, with his laidback and drifting guitar rock giving omage to the days past where the Neil Youngs in music history could be imperfect in vocals and yet deliver distinctive music that wakes you up from the dulcet sounds of the sameness of so much music today.
Viles blurry eyed musings and signature songwriting style has a worldwide audience and collaborations with Steve Gunn and Australias Courtney Barnett has delivered him into the Australian zone, with Bluesfest last year bringing him to one of our biggest stages.  Check him on spotify and listen to the albums.

The 2019 line-up features live music, from midday to 8 pm with the headlining Aussie music legends GANGgajang, the exciting Round Mountain Girls, Floyd Vincent and the Temple Dogs. Supported by our local acts: The Swamp Stompers and Forster- Tuncurry’s favorites The Big Fins.

Wolfmother headline a HUGE 2019 Scene & Heard Festival
After a massive 2018, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Scene & Heard couldn’t get any bigger, right?
Well, you’d be wrong because the lineup for the 2019 festival, which kicks off at Wickham Park on Sunday 10 November, has dropped overnight and it’s a doozy!
Leading the charge this year are Aussie heavy rockers Wolfmother who are fresh from a massive Splendour In The Grass gig and an international tour.
Amazing hitmaker Alex Lloyd will also be marking a milestone at this year’s festival – the 20th anniversary of his platinum-selling debut album Black The Sun – a record Alex will perform in full on the Scene & Heard stage.
The treats just keep coming, too with the 2019 bill rounded out by rockers Eskimo Joe and Even, crowd favourites Sneaky Sound System and the glorious indie power pop of Jebediah and Magic Dirt.
Wow!
To put the icing on the cake, Newcastle will also host the “Don’t Come Monday Stage” – a party zone designed to evoke only the best memories of the boiler room.
Championed this year by The Potbelleez DJ’s, the stage will feature Andy Murphy and John Course.
Scene & Heard is more than a festival. It’s about creating a connection to a time. A time before people cared about ‘likes’, and festival moments weren’t Instagram opportunities but collective memories.
Those wanting to create new memories and relive the old ones can head here to register for the pre-sale.
Members pre-sale begins Tuesday 11 June from 9am.
General public tickets are on sale Wednesday 12 June from 9am
